Podcasts
When it comes to depth, relevancy, and connection, no other medium comes close to a podcast. It allows you to explore ideas in extended conversation, build genuine connection with your audience, and go deep into themes that matter to your mission.
Unlike social media or blog posts, podcasts create intimacy en masse - your voice directly in the ears of an attentive, engaged audience as they drive, walk, or work. When done well, nothing else creates this kind of trust and connection.
High-trust, high-depth authority
You don’t need a massive audience. You just need the right audience.
A school might create a podcast for employed teachers exploring pedagogical challenges, or short engaging episodes for students. Coaches could deliver weekly inspiration directly to clients. Executives and agencies can articulate their ideas to build authority and grow their client base.
Podcasts build deep trust because they require sustained attention. Listeners who commit to your podcast are genuinely interested in what you have to say. They’re not scrolling. They’re listening.
To you.

When a podcast makes sense
Consider a podcast if you:
Are trying to reach mass audiences quickly.
Need it to earn revenue.
Don’t have much time.
Don’t know who would listen or why.
Have content that might work better as an article.
Don’t like talking.
Don’t start a podcast if you:
The reality: Podcasts are high-cost.
They always take much more work than people realise. Recording, editing, finding guests, promoting demands consistent time and resources. Audiences grow slowly and the vast majority of podcasts earn nothing. In fact, they usually cost money and time. And a mediocre podcast is worse than no podcast.
But if you are prepared for that reality, and you are ready to put serious strategic thought and effort into creating a high quality podcast that builds deep trust with your audience and establishes you as an authority on the topic, a podcast is one of the most powerful tools available.
They create intimacy at scale.
They allow your audience to hear your voice.
They allow you to explore ideas at great depth.
They deepen relationships and create genuine connection.
Podcasts I’ve been involved with
A podcast that explores what it means to be an ethical leader who brings about change. Hosted by Brian Harris from the Centre for Faith and Life, and in dialogue with the book of the same name, this podcast includes interviews and discussions on topics that range from what it means to be a faithful steward, how to disagree agreeably, and what it means to live out your values in the workplace.
Available on all streaming platforms.
Stirrers & Saints: The Podcast
A podcast that unpacks and explains the difficult jargon in theological academia, all this ‘isms like ‘Gnosticism’ and ‘Stoicism’, and the weird moments in history, like the Papal Schism and the English Reformation, in bite-size, entertaining portions.
Available on all streaming platforms.
The Isms & Schisms Podcast
AI is an existential challenge to all of humanity, bringing unprecedented change to how we relate to work, one another, leisure, economics, and spirituality. Current discourse tends to be divided into, on the one hand, a naive optimism that ignores the inevitable disruption and, on the other hand, an apocalyptic pessimism that is driven by fear more than anything else. Each episode features interviews with academics, leaders, and pastors, to cut through the hype and provide genuinely helpful, practical explorations into this complex and often frightening topic.
